Why did I start a website?

I have worn many labels throughout my life…daughter, friend, sister, mother, wife, etc. It is the latest label, survivor, that prompted me to create this website. My hope is to help at least one woman escape a life of domestic violence. This term means different things to different people. I hope to shed a light on what it can look like in the every day setting and how it can be so traumatic. Also, I want to show how it is so easy to hide and how easy it is to appear to be a high functioning adult while enduring such trauma. I would like to share with all of you all of the labels that I wear on a regular basis and how I was/am able to live through this. It’s easy to miss the signs when you don’t know what to look for. I absolutely do not want to throw anyone under the bus here, so I plan on removing the ability to comment and keep it more of a positive place of healing.
